Truly amazing! Not only for the Wing Commander community but also fans of Ginger Lynn! I'm almost 30 now and I remember getting WC3 for Christmas back in 94' So I was 12 years old .

There was a seen towards the end of the game where you your love interest. In Wing Commander 3 for some reason I wanted to pick Flint (Robin Peters) because I was thinking "She's battle ready she'll blow stuff up, but what if she dies!" But then I thought "She's no fun! What if I survive the mission!" Then I thought "My mechanic has always been working on my ship and she knows what she's doing plus she's way more fun and there was tons of built up tension between my character and hers!" So I always ended up picking Rachel in the end.

With that being said, can you recall if you ever had any say in the choice process that the player had to take? And what I mean by that is that did you goof up in saying your lines and maybe the director said "Let's go with that!" I've always loved when actors during a scene totally screw the scene up and the director says "That works!" . Or can you remember if it was taking many takes of a scene to get the final product that the director wanted?

One thing I do wish there was more of in Wing Commander Prophecy was more of the background for the relationship that happened between Blair and Rachel and although I know the story wasn't totally centered around them I do wish there had been a few more scenes at least to reminisce on past events.

All in all an extremely amazing honor that you have graced us with your effervescent presence. Thank you!

Here she is one Hellcat V, she is prepped, primed, loaded, locked and ready to kick some ass.

I can still dream that line even today 18 years later, I was in love. Let's just say I never picked Flint :).
So you hinted about working with Mark Hamill being "interesting" can I tempt you to be more specific? :D

Just...wow. Now I know I've been away from these forums for too long.

I'm totally mindblown that you were here, Ginger! I have a lot of respect for celebrities that take time out of their day for the fans, and you really went above and beyond here. Many thanks, and hope to see you back!

This is an awesome series of visits...thanks for continually stopping in! :D

If any of the writing had been up to you where you'd have liked Rachel to do this or that differently in the course of the storyline, what (if anything) might you have changed?

Thanks in advance, and have a great one!

Ginger, awesome that you are posting.

What are you up to these days? Lots of actors have problems acting against green screen, was that a problem for you?

Wow. I recently purchased a panasonic 3do, and the first game I wanted to replay was the classic 'Heart of the tiger'.
Having completed it the other day and shuttled off into the sunset with Rachel (sp?) I decided to Google Ginger Lynn and was very chuffed to find this thread! Some great questions and responses from Ginger. I had no idea about Ginger's other career. Rated the 7th favourite adult actress of all time. Cor blimey! I pulled a porn star! (Sort of). ;-) I'm guessing she doesn't log in here anymore? If you do Ginger, HI! I so love that game, and great to replay it recently.
Also to the members here, forgive my ignorance, but I've only just played it for the second time in 20 years.. is it possible to end up with Flint at the end? (Not that I would want to of course!) Or does she always get killed or give you the elbow?

Yes, it's possible to end up with Flint. There's a certain bar scene where you have to make a decision between the two...;)

And you can also avoid the scene and end the game with neither one.

But then she has to survive the final sortie in order to end up in the shuttle with you, so keep her off your wing.. But I recall in the conversation she objects when you do not fly with her after the bar scene, she'll enforce a decision on you to take her as a wingman. So take her out at least once after the barscene, but do not take her with you on the kilrah run...

You can also avoid some of the game effects after choosing by just not talking to Flint in the elevator I believe. Not sure if that also mitigates the issue you mention as well.

Which is ironic, really. Given how touchy she was about flying, I can't imagine Flint sticking with Blair afterwards, had he "stood her up" for Kilrah.

Yes, but it seems to be canon that whomever you choose for your wing besides Maniac and Vagabond will die (Maniac and Vagabond will eject and survive).

As far as the game is concerned, all the wingmen who fly with you in the final mission are dead-dead. That's also how Andrew Keith originally wrote the novelization. It wasn't until after the game came out and they signed Wilson and Chau to reprise their roles in Wing IV that Baen was asked to quickly insert the possibility that they'd survived :)

As for how the relationships end - the Wing Commander IV script starts with a 'choice' scene where you get a Dear John from the lady you chose in WC3... but they opted not to bring back the actresses to film it.

Hmm. In one way, that sounds really cool - a way to respect the player's choices in the previous game rather than merely saying, "well, no, here's what really happened". In another way, though, it would have felt rather... cheap. Like, whatever you do in WC3, you still end up with a "Dear John". I kind of prefer the way WC4 (the game) finally went with just saying nothing about it. That having been said, imagine the possibilities had there been room in the WC4 budget for a few more scenes including both Rachel and Flint, regardless of player choices (i.e. they would both appear in the game, but would react differently to the player depending on previous choices). For instance, it would have made a lot of sense - in terms of managing the player's emotions - to have Rachel serving as the chief tech on the Lexington. All of a sudden, destroying the Lexington would have felt a lot, lot darker.

Flint, come to think of it, could easily have simply replaced Panther, which would have provided some room for interesting "well, ain't this awkward" scenes.

Just the process for asking players which woman they chose in WC3 would have been an awkward start to a game that needed to appeal to new players, too...

If they had more time for WC4 I would say a simple continuation of the wc3 save file as an option would have been cool. That way WC4 would know what choice you made in Wc3. I know of a few games thst do that now but I can't list em off the top of my head.
Like during setup you could guide it to your wc3 savefile of choice, after configuration of video, sound card, and joystick of course. ; )

Definitely in agreement with both of you - asking the question at the start of the game would have been pretty awkward for new players, and yes, a simple save import option would have been great. In that case, new players would get the default option that the writers deemed best, while those players who held on to their WC3 saves would have had their choice.

Needless to say, it still would be far from perfect, and ultimately not worth the trouble. A save importer would take next to no time at all, but how many players would have actually held on to their WC3 savegames? WC3 didn't import WC2 savegames, so at this point in the series, there was no reason to hold on to your saves - and of course, at this time in history, you kind of wanted to delete (heh, not uninstall, but delete) a game like WC3 after you were done with it, because it just took too much space on your hard drive.
