New Scoreboard Entries Now More Visible (March 4, 2006)

Sharp eyed viewers have noticed there's a new little section on the front page of the CIC. Kris put together a little program that displays the five most recent pilots' scores from the Standoff Simulator. You can see them below the first day's news. If you'd like to get in on the action, complete directions are available here. In the future, the score box should pull information from a wider range of missions and sources. And it's up to you to keep it fresh. Good luck improving your scores! Here's the top ten as it stands today. There's been quite an increase as people get more practice in.

Hmm. It seems like the "last five scores" section on the front page has the Kilrathi and Confed gauntlets swapped around. For example, at this moment, powell99 is listed on the front page having scored 900 in an Epee in the Confed gauntlet, but on his pilot profile page, it seems as though his 900 Epee score was in fact in the Kilrathi gauntlet.

i was intrigued by this current score on the cic's front page

mincemeat - Confed Gauntlet - Tarsus - 120

i thought you would have to have the patch to put entries on the official scoreboard. nice to see the old girl though.

You have to have the patch installed. Look at the scoreboard pages, you won't find that score; it's just a little something Kris overlooked when he made his front-page display.

I think I have a funny install of Standoff...

I've downloaded installed Episode 3 only earlier this week, then played the gauntlet trying out the arrow. The graphic on the simulator main menu worked fine, as well as the Technical information section showed the correct information for the Arrow.

But when in the game, I get a strange ship to say the least - the armament of two laser and two missiles (which I presume is the Armada spec), but I get a top speed of 300 (as if the ship specs somehow got mixed up), and when I died I saw a Tarsus exploding...

Since I'm so late into downloading the episode I presumed that it would have contained the patch as well?
 
Whoa, that's strange... your EXE is outdated. Where did you get the Episode 3 install from ? Download the Ep3 patch and install it, it should overwrite the old EXE. Tell me if works or not.
 
I've downloaded stan_ep3 from the download.wcnews.com link.
MD5 hash of the file was: 493BEFA0B662571B8AAB8D68D42B3619

Will try the patch now...
