My Wing Commander TV Show

Sorry, when I read 'Wing Commmander TV show' I automatically thought about WCATV. :)

A live action would be good either, though I think cartoon would be easier.

The biggest problem when starting in the Nephilim war would IMO be, as someone said before, explaining the universe. A lot of stuff important for the Nephilim storyline has already hapened in the WC universe. WC fans like me wouldn't care if it wasn't explained, but you can't afford producing a show just for the fans. So I guess making a well-understandable pilot for this one would be quite an interesting challenge.[/B]

Well, what I would do was of course have subtle hints at WC history, but not a full out explanation, say, for example, having a rookie in the squadron and focusing some attention to explaining things to *him*. i.e. "Well Kid, back in the Kilrathi War...." And hopefully the TV show would inspire non-fans to check out the WC community, that's right *FREE PLUGS FOR THE CIC!!!!* :)

I'll be honest I probably wouldn't watch a WC TV series set in WC1 time, they did it with the WC movie and they couldn't pull it off without screwing with the previous events.
But a continuation of the nephilim war could work VERY nicely, and lets face it everyone loved Species 8472 until they made them that nice happy go lucky race and then dropped them all together.

And personally I felt that the plots to the games, especially WCIV went above and beyond even the very best movies and TV :)

Actually, I hate, hate, hate Voyager. I especially hate this Species 8472 garbage! Aren't Borg suppose to be nigh unstoppable (unless Picard is kicking around) and then they decide "No, wait, lets make something that even he Borg can't beat!" and they try to top themselves and fail. Badly.

Personally, I'd do several Harlan Ellison-like things to the writers who made 8472.

Harlan's also a multiple Hugo and Nebula award winner, one of the most out-spoken first amendment rights activist writers in the US, wrote the (argueably) best episode of Classic Trek [The City on the Edge of Forever], several classic eps of the original Outer Limits, sucessfully sued James Cameron for ripping off his "Demon with a Glass Hand" teleplay to make "Terminator" and is repeatedly called one of the greatest contemparary sci-fi writers ever.

Oh, yeah, and did you ever read "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream"? :)

Some people either don't have the books or are too lazy. :)

BTW, expect Telep to ask you to put up good reviews for him on Amazon.com in exchange for his input/help. :)

Actually I liked Voyager, especially when compared to DS9, it didn't take the attitude that viewers needed to be spoonfed a simple plot over a huge number of episodes in order for them to catch on (or mix it with scifi soap opera). Thats pretty much why I liked TNG too, a new plot idea for each episode some of them extremley good.
As for Species 8472 I didn't preffer them to the Borg but they showed us an insight into the flaws of the borg and they had a very dark and unknown streak to them (until that awful awful awful episode).
The best aliens will always be the Daleks ofcourse :) No british person whos childhood took place in the 60s onwards will ever forget the daleks.

So what kind of alien menace would you like to see as the next threat to the wing commander universe?

Ofcourse :)
But I'd like to see us finish them off in Prophecy 2 and 3.

Now can someone tell me how exactly a game with the wing commander franchise which used live actors (but it can have rendered backgrounds, not many people had a problem with WC3s backgrounds and things have moved on a LOT) on a single DVD (ie no 6CD production costs) could possibly LOOSE EA money.

Now I know Prophecy didn't cost a lot to make, I'm sure LOAF has an exact figure but it was less than a million, had that been done with green screen techniques that cost could probably have been halved whilst actually adding more.
And correct me if I'm wrong but even though Prophecy didn't hit its target didn't make a tidy profit? Theres definate potential to make some money but no ones taking it :(
