MIB/WC Connection

wasen't that the one that you walk around the desert and that i kept getting lost and died and stuff? lol

Dune is an amazing series of novels and its a crying shame that the games have been so god-awful. I haven't played the new one yet, so I hope they can prove me wrong. . .

That first Dune game was rather weird. I had it for Sega CD. I actually got pretty far in it, not really knowing what I was doing. I managed to get some Fremen to attack some Harkonnen bases, and then they turned them into seitches. Then I sorta flew around the desert some more. I never actually died, I just didn't know what the hell to do.

I use the WEG system (D6). It is so universal!

has spilled the lifewater of approximately 82 Stormies! :)

The first Dune was fun, but too easy. I'm surprised that you didn't know what to do, considering the amount of advice provided by all the people around you :)

Yes, it was very easy...
and you can´t have more than 70 % or something percentage more of the planet with planting bulbs and harvesting all the sietches.
And if you attack the Harkonnen palace with your troops with Atomics and you don´t go there after few days the palace is a sietch and you can´t win the game, the emperor and the baron tell somethig weird and game over

There are a bunch of 'lock-outs' in the game -- where you don't lose, but you can't win...

But I digress -- is there like a map of all the sietches somewhere?

Hmm, I rather doubt it. But I think it would be pretty difficult to finish the game without finding all the sietches anyway, since the other characters always tell you when and where you should go look :).

No, it's very difficult to find them all... sometimes if you just fly randomly around you'll locate one you'd never heard of before.

I located all the sietches, and is amazing that in the south pole is a empty-sietch zone only sand, specially under the cielago zone.

For instance, if you get all the characters together for the end of the game and *then* the virus midgame strikes them... then you're screwed and you can't do anything:)

Ehh, the easiest way to win the game is to simply sit around gathering spice at the start -- before you go discover the Sietches on the *other* side of the planet... you can get a huge stockpile of it before it entirely runs out -- and none of the Harkonnen attacks or other plot elements are triggered.

But it messes up the balance of the game a bit:)

I loved the music in that game. I also loved the music in Dune2 and 2000.

Anyone have a movie extractor for Dune2000? I want to see the bits I missed. (And see our good buddy Paladin on command!)
