Had he been single she would have blown him off. I've decided (in an attempt to institue mild topic drift) that many women are usually interested in men who are dating (at least) because they look at him and say, "Hmm, she's put time and effort in him, he must be worth something..." At least that's the justification I used when I wasn't dating anyone
