Jump Physics / Quantum Tunnelling

Jump physics reminds me of an interesting quantum process that occurs on a much smaller scale. Quantum tunnelling in which usually an electron will go through a barrier instantaneously as if it disappeared in one spot and re-appeared in another with no time passed in transit.

jump physics really has very little in common with quantum tunneling.

quantum tunneling is a quantum curiosity involving an electron passing through a barrier that it should not be able to pass through while exerting no kinetic energy upon it. That is, instead of smashing through it, it seems to "tunnel" through it instead.

jump physics is the concept that space-time is curved by gravity, and where these curves meet, anti-gravitons can be used to tear open a hole through which you can access the other "curve" of space from your own "curve."

Why do you open a brand new thread everytime you have a thought or simple question?

Despite your feelings (I feel the same about the theory mind you) starting a thread about jump physics isn't forbidden, and it's certainly better than muddying up another unrelated thread with it.

Dear Nomad,

You'd have to keep in mind that this is a new topic, so I felt I would create a new topic about this. I thought it would be better than "muddying" up another thread about it.

This is not meant ot sound retarted (I'm not a quantum physicist it's just not my area of expertise), but how would anti-gravitons tear open a hole... if anything from as I see it, it sounds like it would just negate some of the effects of the gravity in the area...

I'm almost absolutely completely certain I typed up the page on this from the Confederation Handbook here. It seems to have disappeared somewhere.

In any case, there's a detailed explanation in the Bible, which is one of the few parts of it considered 'canonical' as it's paraphrased in the officially released Handbook (the last part of it is taken almost verbatim from the Bible). It's all pseudoscience, mind you.

I'm so glad you're here to tell us these things [/HanSolo]

I took a class on astrobiology a few years ago and it touched on faster-than-light travel. If I remember correctly, negative energy would be required to keep the wormhole stable. Otherwise, it would blink out of existence.

How do anti-gravitons produce negative-energy?

V Kent

I think that this is a reversal of cause and effect here. Properly, according to current understanding of physics, negative energy should produce anti-gravitons.

Basically, according to General Relativity, energy equals mass. Therefore negative energy equals negative mass, which would produce anti-gravitons instead of gravitons.
