Just being picky, but it's now officially called Uluru, its original Aboriginal name. But really, if you're here, the first thing you should think of when you see "Ayer's Rock" should be that Mandarin base.
On a sidenote, I saw this guy once, who was ranting about how now that it's been renamed Uluru, the rock formerly known as Ayers Rock sucks and therefore he hates Australia. Yes siree, the internet exposes thousands of weirdoes to the light of day...
