How do you get the program working?

I just downloaded version 1.0 and am trying to get it to work, it loads but I only get to the intro screen where three pirates are attacking, and nothing works, I have to ALT CTRL DELETE to end the program. Had the same problem with version .9 trying both versions on a PC running XP. Have the old version of Privateer running on an old PC through DOS, but no luck with the remakes.
 
what about if you click the mouse after the cutscene finishes?

it should say <click to end cutscene>


0.9 did not have such a cutscene so I do not know how you could have the same problem
