Has anyone else noticed?

Hmm, I've scrolled through the mission e-mails and I haven't found one that implies teleportation.

(The closest WC comes is that silly drink machine in the first episode of Academy...)

No teleportation literally. Possible ingame message could be: "Thanks for delivering, now we beam the cargo in our cargo hold." - or so.

But do no effort for insignificant mentions. :o

Thanks, that must clearify some things to me at this point :D

Actually, it was a poke at Wing Commander in general, but Privateer in specifics.

After all, it's a little hard to explain why Tachyon's Galspan fields their own Flying Pancake.

WC1's Dralthi.

That's the Galspan Archangel Interceptor actually. The Pegasus Light Interceptor is also a flying pancake though.

It's also interesting to note that Galspan are "sort of" the bad guys of the game. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. We've seen the flying pancake used in a lot of instances since Wing Commader though.

Hmmm Durandal and a Dundradal...this could get confusing....I almost thought I had been posting to this thread until I did a double take on the name. Apparently the unbreakable sword of Sir Roland has arrived....although it could be a rampant AI as well.....

A) Thanks for catching that; I wasn't exactly looking at my copy of the Tachyon strategy guide when I snagged the pic. Though you're right; there have been several takes by the Kilrathi on the flying pancake.

B) It's Durandal, as in the rampant AI of the Marathon Trilogy. It's also my RL nickname, so...

I know of Marathon very well. I am an avid mac user (that's about 99% of what I use). I've played the Marathon series since they came out 10 years ago. For a long time people got my nick confused with yours...

The only conversation I can recall happening along these lines is that your money is immediately electronically transfered into your account after a successful delivery. Can't recall anything physically being beamed anywhere.

If I play Privateer II again, I will shot a screenshot of this message or I will extract it from the game. Then I will resurrect this thread and run the risk, to get banned. :D

Not so important. I think, in every game are words written, which confuse the storygiven technology and its concept.
