Has anybody noticed...

I noticed a little similarity between the Nephilim and the Shadows, but I don't think that any sort of reference or connection between the two exists.
 
I'm a huge Evil Dead fan, and I've played Prophecy so many times I can finish the game sleeping, but I haven't noticed any ED easter eggs or references...unless I've been extremely thick for the past 4 years...
 
Could you be more specific by what you mean as a reference?
 
Sadly, all the one-liners from the Evil Dead series have been ruined by over-use and Duke Nukem 3D.
 
No no, it's a little more obvious... when you enter the code MORETUNES or whatever, you hear Mark Hamill say "Groovy".
 
Mark Hamil, says "groovy all the time. He saids it in just about everythinghe does, including acting and narations. In fact, it's a good chance that he's saying it right now as you read this post. This is not a reference, unless you can give us more proof.
 
I could stomach a few more Duke Nukem catch phrases. I dont recall "groovy" anywhere in the Star Wars movies... though it would be amusing.

Actually.. I'm pretty sure thats actually a snipped wav of Bruce.. not Mark, saying "Groovy."

While the game was still in development there were other Evil Dead wavs used as placeholder stuff and cues for special events..

The kick ass and chew bubblegum catchphrase is actually quite old I heard it in a movie from the late 80's or something like that I think it was They Live. I know it had Roddy Piper, Keith David, and a few other fairly well known people in it.

Yep. Piper walks into a bank wearing his special sunglasses that allow him to see the aliens for who they really are. He looks around and says, "I"m here to chew bubble gum...and kick some ass. And I'm alllllllllll out of bubble gum."

Very cheesy/campy movie that doesn't take itself seriously at all, but entertaining for that very reason.
