blair is a member of the space forces (essentially the air force), not the navy. they have a different rank system.

i believe a captain in the space forces is an o-3, while a captain in the navy is an o-6

Just out of curiosity, when you knock someone's post count down like that, do you just fiddle with the numbers, or do you actually delete posts? I was wondering because I was helping with a project and was hoping that none of the actual helpful posts got deleted.
 
Nothing is deleted, you can manually reset the ranks.

(I'm sure we'll fix all the people whose postcounts have been hilariously reset at some point, though)

Having a high rank doesn't always mean you get any command... look at Starlancer: You can get the highest rank of Squadron Commander with 300 kills and command nothing.
All you get is new fancy rides.






But should an admin read that I'd still like to get rid of the cadet rank... Probably I'd get a swabble
