Does anybody know where I can get WC .wav files?

I need some good wav files for DN3D conversion. If anyone knows where I can a fairly diverse selection of Kilrathi taunts that would be appreciated.
Also if anyone wants to do some voice work for the conversion, and has the stuff to record voice effects, I'd be happy to have you part of the Blue Midget team.
I'm still looking for someone to voice the main character as well as the Mandarins. :)

DN3d = Duke Nukem 3d? I had tried making a TCS Victory level back in the day, but I had a serious time getting the one big thing to work: I had a switch that would drop the force fields at either end and the floor would move FAST, to simluate decompression. :D A nice little trap, yes? However, I got stuck when I got to the Flight Obseravation Deck since I wanted to get the overhead screens just right...I also made a level below the flight deck as a kind of "Fighter Storage Bay" because we never saw all 40 fighters on the flight deck at any given time...

As for sounds, well, I can't say. I know there's a Maniac and Pliers zipped files on the CIC's Files section, yes?

wow! People still make mods for Duke3d???!!! I'll have to crack out a Duke 3d and start fraggin all over again. I had sold it originally, but god bless PC Gamer for slapping a full version on their demo disc.

I'm working on an explosive decompression trick but I haven't been able to perfect it yet. There is a program called EDuke that I might be able to use to create a similar effect without moving the floor, if I could the damn program to work.
By the way the first level is going to be a carrier based level.:D

There was an amazing Starship Troopers mod put out for it just recently, so yeah they are still making them, or at least finishing them after years of work:)

I can get you any sound from Wing Commander II. All of the Kilrathi taunts can be found here. Just right-click on that link and save it to your hard drive. If there are any other specific sounds you want, just ask.

I can also provide sounds from both Special Operations. That means that I should be able to find some Mandarin taunts for you... :)

I have alot of environment sprites already, i.e. Confed insignia signage title popups. I'm working on changing the Duke sprite, it's the most minimal change, and I will probably copy those sprties for the Mandarins. I've got one of the pistol sprites pretty much finished and I'm starting on the rest of the sprites for the pistol.
I'll see if I can send along some screenshots to the CIC to post.
I could use help from anyone who has a good graphics program as well as a 3D rendering program. I've been using a demo of Cybermotion 3D designer to build the frame work for the pistol and then I've texturized it in Editart.
I'll send in a report to the CIC until I have my site up.

For what it's worth, as a professional narrator and reader of talking books I have great experiencewith voiceover work, I was originally slated for a role in WCUE, but since that seems to be on ice... well, anyway, viper_delta@usa.net if You want me to do any voice samples and/or character roles for You.

Nice day,

In the true sense of the word, I have never really GONE anywhere, I still read posts here daily, however I don't get involved in discussions anymore because I really don't like being berated. In this case, I thought I might help. But to answer Your question, no, I won't just start posting again and pretend nothing happened.

What incredible will-power. I was reading posts here a few months before I joined. Couldn't resist, I wanted to say something! :)

Can you get the SO1 speech for me, please? They seem to be encoded differently. It's even weird that the speech file for the mutinous pilot is part WAV, part encrypted.

All right! I was able to get all the sounds from both Special Operations. However, I wasn't able to sort out which sounds go with which game. That means that there are going to be some sounds from Special Operations 2 thrown in there. The original sounds from Wing Commander II are not included. Just right-click here and save it to your hard drive. Then all you have to do is unzip it.

Wait! No! I fucked up. :(

Those are only the sounds from Special Operations 2. I thought that there were some from the first Special Operations in there, but I was mistaken. Sorry about the mixup...but enjoy the sounds that are there!

Ehh... haven't the chance to get them yet... although my memory is hazy as to whether there was an encoded speech file for SO2 as well. IIRC, I haven't got speech for the mutinous SO1 pilot. I had the SO1 intro from Mad Hatter, but that got corrupted with my hard drive, and MH doesn't have it online any more.

Mad Hatter had a page with a bunch of Wing Commander MP3s that aren't on the CIC. Do you know the address of that page?
