Cursor drifts to upper left corner

I've played several DOS games using DOSBox, but this is the first time I've had this problem. I installed Privateer - Righteous Fire. Every time I run the game. the cursor moves to the upper left corner of the window. This behavior makes the game unplayable. I've tried three different DOSBox versions, 0.63, 0.70, and 0.72.
I tried Ctrl-F10, but that did not work. I also read on another forum about setting the following parameters in the .conf file:

joysticktype=4axis
timed=false
autofire=false
swap34=false
buttonwrap=true

These settings did not fix the problem.

Has anyone also encountered this drifting cursor issue and resolved it? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

bobk

Privateer automatically checks for a joystick instead of waiting for you to plug one in. You might be able to alleviate some of the drifting by making sure your stick is callibrated correctly in windows itself first. IF the windows callibration is correct then also check and unplug any other game controlers you may have plugged in such as USB gamepads since they often interfere since old games don't recognize having more than one stick plugged in at a time.

Thank you, AD. That seemed to be the answer. I calibrated the joystick and the cursor problem went away.
