ConFleet size fleet action

Rear Admiral
I am confused does anyone remember how many carriers we had online during Fleet action I thought there was 8 but I only seem to rember four in the battle for earth

AFAIK, we read about the Concordia, Moskva, Verdun, Saratoga, Leyte Gulf, Lexington, and Ark Royal - apart from CVEs like the Tarawa and Normandy.

The Moskva and Verdun were destroyed before the battle reached Earth - or even Sol system - though.

3 couldn't participate in the battle and were destroyed in drydock, 7 participated in battle in which 5 were destroyed (Leyte Gulf, Verdun, Moskva, Lexington, and Ark Royal). Concordia and Saratoga survived.

There were 41 supporting escorts, with at least one cruiser squadron and two destroyer squadrons.

Well CVE's are carriers. I think CVE stands for Confederation Vessel Escort (carrier) if I'm wrong would someone please correct.

Nope -- the CVE designation has been used by the US Navy since World War II, when the first escort carriers were used.

Eh, sadly it's nothing so obvious or sensible.

The 'C' is for 'Cruiser', and dates back to early on in the century when most warships were designated cruisers. The 'V' is a naval designation for "heavier than air" craft... and the 'E' is for 'Escort'.
