I know people might be harsh with the cadets, (personally i have never had this problem) but its damn annoying when people join just to promote their webpage or super duper shaving foam, and all sorts of strange things, and then dissapear from the forum until the next time they have some wierd offer. I really hope All That Remains joined because he is a wing commander fan which is planning to post in the future, not just some ass that wants to promote his half stolen WC rpg site.

I'm sorry if that sounded harsh, but thats the way i feel.
 
hey i will always be a wing commander fan until the day i die. which will probably when i go off to iraq and my recon group will probably get ambushed or blown up. one or the other but not the point. what is the point is "loyality to the end." Wing Commander Fan for the rest of my life which will probably be short. i'm just gonna stop talking now.

I'm glad to hear it.

But if you look around the forums a bit you will find a lot of "one time posters".
But since your really is a wing commander fan: Welcome aboard! :)
 
Please don't be too rough on the new people - everyone makes mistakes, and no one is born being familiar with the community. All That Remains is clearly trying his best, and he hasn't been mean or offensive about any of this.

I didnt mean to attack him. I really didnt.
But as a mod you have to be just as annoyed with the "one time posters" as me.

Also; IM NOT A CADET BASHER! Unlike some of the veterans that even started their own cadet bashing thread. :mad:
 
Hm, I'm only an irregular poster... :eek:
If I'm in this forum, most the time I check the threads and let others speak (believe me or not, but some results of discussion-problems seem foreseeable or reduntant to me. But it help me some time to refresh my basic WC-knowledge and it entertain me, if I feeling bored about other online-communities :) ).
 
The Wing Commander community, by its nature, is fairly old and set in its ways - unlike something like Star Wars which recruits new fans with modern products each day, Wing Commander has been 'set' for quite a while. Given that, people are less used to new people showing up and making the same mistakes they did ten years ago.

Plus, new people turn out to be jerks a lot, too -- it's tough to remember to wait and see when you're used to dealing with people like Antman. :)
 
When some 15 year old new person threathens publically and by PM that he'll sick a lawyer on you because "as a minor, I'm protected by law!!!!!!", you tend to become less tolerant towards other like minded people.

And for the record, I have yet to recieve those "legal reprecussions" that Assman had threathened me with :)

I'm thinking his parents grounded him and took away his computer after he asked them to spend several thousand consulting with a lawyer over someone calling him names over the Internet. Or so I hope.

Unless, of course, he ran into someone bigger than he was, who showed him what his sort of thing usually leads to... :D
 
For anyone who is interested in this project:

By the end of the year 2681 Confed forces were kicking the shit out of the Nephilim forces. Knowing defeat was at hand. They decided to turn tail and run. Doing so they use there wormhole to travel to the Star Wars universe. Don't ask me how they just got it done. Confed made the decision to go after them and finished them off. The Kilrathi still blood thirsty for revenge decided to come along.

2682 - When the Confed and Kilrathi forces follow the Nephilim to this new and unknown universe it was the when The Rebel Alliance forces overthrew the Empire. The Confed and Kilrathi forces want to make this a stealthy operation. But the Nephilim forces were wounded and need to rebuild there forces. That's how the Empire plays into all of this. Some of there forces were still around and they were pissed that they lost. The Nephilim forces suprisingly formed an a need to need alliance with the Empire. Nephilim forces had the techonlogy to help the Empire take back it's former position. The Empire had the restores to put it in an action. It actually force which is scary. Anyway realizing they step into some major shit. Confed decided to form an alliance with the locals hence the Rebal Alliance. Together they tracked down and destroyed the whatever was left of the Empire. They also destroyed hybrid ships that Empire used against the alliance. But not to worry those ships destroyed at the final battle of that war.

Didn't NeoDevilBane or anything write a Wing Commander-Starwars crossover in the past. Maybe someone can provide the link.
All that remains, I doubt you'll find anyone on these boards interested in such a project. I believe the people who are still here after all these years are too 'canon-minded'. But you can always try, no harm in that.

The link between both worlds is going to be revealed in the storyline. it's gonna to be reveal right after the escort mission by Dr. Jordon head researcher in wormhole gate technology.
