So way back in 1995 when I was on my high school newspaper staff, I wrote a review of Armada. I dug it up the other day and scanned it in. So here's some nostalgia. If I remember right, I pasted on a last minute spelling fix for maneuver, but it fell off after it went to press.

Shouldn't this be in Wing Commander Chat? Anyways it's a nice read.

The Flight Commander forum is fine.

That's really well written for a high school paper. I never covered any games, but did review the movie when it came out.

Thanks for sharing this, eddieb. :)

The suggestion that sound cards weren't prevalent in most PC's at the time really takes me back! The various hardware changes and improvements over the past decade have been both drastic (3D graphics) and more subtle (audio) and yet in my view, Wing Commander as always been on the leading edge of the audio experience, whether that was original sound effects or dynamic music.

Did you review any other Wing Commander games during your time with the school paper?

    Cheers,

    Bryn

Nope, I usually wrote opinion. The only other review I remember doing is one of "Boys on the Side." I didn't enjoy it to say the last :).
