3D Printed Privateer ships.

Here are my two mockups side by side for comparison.

I like them, there are lots of details and the proportions seem right!

Yeah, if I had to pick an Orion model to use it's the larger one that you're currently using. It just looks better, and it's used more often in the game.

It looks like you were pretty close with the Talon? Only slightly off with the scale. How tall is the pilot figure you're using meant to be at full scale?

It's supposed to be 1:72, but with all the scaling it's not exactly possible. Therefore more or less.

Sorry, I didn't phrase that right. How tall is the figure meant to be in 'real life' (e.g. 180cm)?

In the meantime, I have printed a mockup of the Galaxy in the scale I am using.
The hull is halved around the longitudinal axis to save material.
Model stands with simple feet at actual height.
Many details like nozzles and radar are missing.

The top turret should be elevated to ensure a 360 degree firing range as in the game.
If I can't find a satisfactory solution, I'll leave the turrets off later.
The cargo doors are small compared to the rest of the spaceship.

How big are the Galaxy and Centurion?

It's funny how small the Dralthi is. If I'm reading your scale correct the actual size of the Tarsus should be around 28 meters, which would make them the same length. That is, if the Claw Marks figure stands －but then, the Privateer Dralthi is the same model as the one in Super Wing Commander. The repair droid is pretty big too, I never parsed it to be that large.

The size of my repair droid results from the initial assumption that its tires are the same size as for the loader.
Cybot sizes make more sense logically, because then the repair droids would also fit into the ships.

A Demon might come later.

I uploaded my mockups to the hangarbay of Cybot.
The scenery would have a dimension of approx. 1400x1300x350mm.
Advantage: Several ships can be displayed at the same time.

A scenery from the Mining Base Pad would not be much smaller at approx. 1200x1000x500mm.
Disadvantage: only one ship can be presented at a time.

At the moment I can't decide which one to implement first. I just know that I don't have much space in my apartment.

I printed the remaining mockups of the playable ships in identical scale the last days.
The kitchen floor shows all my current mockups.

These are just test prints to see into which parts I have to divide the ships to be able to print them well. That way I can also see which features I can build into the ships. Only at the end, after construction and printing, will I paint them.

I wonder how they came up with the Gladius being 36 meters in length. The Space Shuttle is 122 feet or a little over 37 meters in length. Maybe meters are measured differently in the future?

I was too lazy to measure the scale of the figures at the beginning of the drawings.
I confused the H0 scale with 1:72. So I had to redraw the 3D data.
I'm now done with that and can finally start 3D printing.
The rust bucket increased in size from 345x103x102 to 402x120x119. LxWxH in mm.
