@Quarto, nice insight based on your own experiences, was an interesting read. To be fair on Erin, where did I read somewhere that the game was never intended to be called Privateer 2 in the first place, but was a decision taken by a 3rd party (EA?) at the last moment? I'm sure LOAF or someone...
Thx Wedge, I stand corrected. The original draft of my post had mentioned WCIV, but then I realised it was released before the darkening... So a ninja edit with poor results!
My anger at that game is justified! I was one of those "loyal" privateer fans that they hoped to capture by making use of the Privateer title. "Ultimately, the name Privateer 2 was applied to this game to attract the loyal customer base". Allow me to paraphrase: "We were concerned that our sales...
Hey Howard. Absolutely incredible job on the game so far! Is Joystick support added or planned for release? This game would be a perfect fit for kickstarter with all the current hype around the rebirth of the space sim as a genre!
Thought you may have used the intro sample from the below soundcloud clip that was on the wcnews home page a couple of weeks ago. Might have been a bit odd though switching sound fidelity midstream...
<iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no"...
Haha, absolutely not! Yes, I didn't think this part was very clear. For the wingnut package it clearly states "Hardcover copy of Star Citizen Manual", so with that I assumed it was definitely a physical copy whereas in the higher tiers there is mention of a hard cover "Making of Star Citizen"...
Hey Dundradal, didn't the man pledge come standard with HardCover Squadron 42 manual? I know that my pledge (Wingnut), did, and so assumed that all tiers above mine would by default include it.
Thanks @ChrisReid for the recognition!
@Pedro: Yes I think you said it yourself... I was simply looking for something with that extra dramatic edge and "Requiem for a Dream" seemed to fit quite nicely. I'm thinking of doing a far more chilled-out video, perhaps looking over some of the more...
Yeah, time was my biggest enemy, as I did the editing in between developing a work project. I mainly used stock HD footage I could get a hold of from YouTube, which didn't provide too many "action" shots...
Hey All
Please check out my Wing Commander through the years video. I just wanted to help create something to keep up the momentum and interest in the new Chris Roberts franchise! The timings to the music are not perfectly in sync, but good enough for now, as I have other programming work I...
It's OFFICIALLY supported! Check out the site, under the "Can you fly that thing?" section. "We have backed Oculus Rift and will support it in Star Citizen / Squadron 42. Who doesn't want to sit in their cockpit, hands on your joystick and throttle, swivelling your head, to track that enemy...
Wow, from the man himself! Awesome that he was able to be part of the birthday celebrations... really sad I missed them! I think I heard somewhere that he was part of the IRC chat? Was any new info gleaned on this new "project" that Mr. Roberts is working on? Is it possibly a new Wing Commander...
On my system (64 bit) its: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Wing Commander 1 and 2\WC\WINGCMDR.CFG. The WC2 file should be in: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Wing Commander 1 and 2\WC2\wc2.cfg
Hey! Found a solution on GOG.com forums! http://www.gog.com/en/forum/wing_commander_privateer/wc1_crappy_sound_and_sluggish_mouse
Seems like a serious blind hack... but works for me!
I have the original WCI running in DosBox... in comparison the GOG WCI sound is really poor. It's like I'm ringing the doorbell every time I fire my Hornets lasers! Anyone else experiencing this?
