    Wing Commander DOS and Win98

Are you talking about the slow down methods? That works with WC 2 as well and is not needed for wc3 and wc4. And to get wc4 working, the easiest way is to use the windows patch, anyway. Never tried privateer 1 and 2 and armada under real dos, so I can't tell whether you need to slow down them...

Wing Commander Games and Windows XP - A Summary

I can't tell for sure, but someone with a 700Mhz reported that he was able to really play it with a one month old cvs version. So the chances are good, that it might run for you at perfect speed in 0.62 ;)

    running crusader in dosbox

According to the Dosbox homepage, No Regret is 100% supported in DOSBox 0.61 and No Remorse 90%. But there is no description what to do to prevent errors. - Only info is, that others get crashes / errors as well. Oh well, I guess the guy who fixed it never posted how to fix it :S So best might...

Wing Commander Games and Windows XP - A Summary

Ok, I've just tested the CVS with WCIII: When using dynamic core and cylces at 60000, it is nearly 100% smooth - even during fight and when hitting enemies. Only stutters slightly when creal close to the enemy. real cycles are at up to 30000 in fight then and videso up to 35000. So I'd say for...

Wing Commander Games and Windows XP - A Summary

Wow! Thx a lot gulikoza :D I'll try out that out with Wing Commander III and check out whether Joystick works properly with Armada.

Wing Commander Games and Windows XP - A Summary

Is that a P4 based celeron or the PIII based one? If it's the PIII based one it normally should be fast enough. So: Did you higher the CPU clock in the dosbox.conf?I personally use ~4000 cycles. If not, that's why it's so slow. If you already did, you might want to try out the newer CVS...

    Please help

The windows patch is meant to be installed before the game is installed. - The whole descrition was just linked by Iwannaplayp2. - Sorry, forgot to mention it somehow :( But pls don't start several Threads next time instead of asking back again in one, like Iceman16 said.

    Wing Commander DOS and Win98

It's still too fast? OH well, I guess your Mobo/Memory etc are better than mine then ;) To the DOS emulator: Even if DosBox was running, it would be very likely that it'll be too slow on that PC. But I don't know anymore DOS emus that'll run on your rig, sorry :(

    Wing Commander DOS and Win98

I'd guess so, too. Only prob might be that not every BIOS allows to switch of the cpu cache :( So good luck ;)

    Installing the Games

Yes, that's right. But those "working" floppies could die as well ;) Anyway, I use my Armada-CD to install the game instead of the floppys and keep the floppys in the box, so they do not die slowly - like my boot floppy for my DOS PC did 3 times already (Well, data got corrupted, a reformat and...

    Wing Commander DOS and Win98

What CPU is that? PentiumIII? K6-3? something else? I ask, cause for my K6-2 400Mhz switching off both internal and external CPU cache in BIOS solved the problem. But keep in mind, that this will slow down your whole PC drastically (it runs about as fast as a 386 with 33Mhz or so).

    I'm having trouble---HELP :-D

For WCIV: Are you running with the Windows patch in Win9x compatibility mode? Did you use the win2k patch available in this Thread yet? http://www.crius.net/zone/showthread.php?t=9353 And you may also want to try the USB Joystick patch, if it still doesn't work. linked in this Thread...

More Wing Commander Auctions (July 7, 2004)

I've got a question about the Kilrathi Saga: I'm wondering which of those two is harder to find / worth more: the silver one or the white one?

    Installing the Games

You can also use it to install it. Just mount the drive with all the setup files as A: That is what I had to do for my Armada Floppy version, wouldn't install otherwise. @cff: Floppys use to die after using them too much or when getting old, so backing them up in a zip or so, is a quite good...

    WC1 and WC2 in WinME

And, have you read the readme that comes with Dosbox yet? Cause you can change the clock speed of DOSBox by pressing ctrl-F11 (lower) and ctrl-F12 (higher) or editing the config file (dosbox.conf, [cpu] section). And there are some other helpfull settings descripted there as well. For WC1 I use...
