A story flaw? Colonel Christopher Blair - the most inexperienced ace in the universe?

The problem is that phase shield penetrating torpedoes aren't new the Kilrathi were using the prototype design at the first major battle of the war and I believe Confed salvaged one their so they probably had their own in production by year 2 or 3 of the war. The thing is by the time of WC1...

    Major victory in Standoff?

Yeah but still going from being able to stand against worse then 3 to 1 odds of the Kilrathi elites in the post armistice campagin to falling to 3 to 1 odds of the leftovers seems odd given that Lexington actually had superior fighters to the ones we saw in use at Sirius and Terra.

    Major victory in Standoff?

This commits Confed forces to planetary assault, particularly supplying the troops, leading to increased emphasis on commerce raiding, as well as allowing time to muster sufficient concentration of assets to destroy Confed forces in detail. The first and most notorious example of this is when...

    Starfighter novels?

Anyone know of any good and preferably recent novels that focus on starfighter combat? I've read most licensed novels like BSG, SW and WC but want something else especially since the BSG and WC novel lines are dead and SW rarely focuses on starfighter combat any more.

    Games that are like WC

I always steal any Multi-beam frigates I see and the Emperor's mothership's defense force at the final battle. I keep a swarm of Defenders with the Multi-beamers at all times.

    CAS in Wing Commander world

Ok I'm just curious about which SW stories involve lone carriers stalling the enemy for time? The only lone carrier stories I remember off the top of my head are Night Caller (Which was on an undercover intel mission and was not a front line ship in the fleet it originally belonged to and was...

Together Again For The First Time

I liked it and all 4 movies plus all the novels based on the franchise.

Does Sansky die in the Wing Commander movie?

The only reasonable theory I can think of for the Claw to pull backwater duty during Academy is that they did it to help in training the replacement pilots and crew before shipping her back to the front lines. Thoughts?

    Rigakh cruiser

I always like knowing the ship stats as well, admittedly part of why most of my hopes for a new WC game involve a early Kilrathi war setting is hoping to learn more details about the pre-war/early-war fighters.

    Kilrathi game?

I think a Kilrathi based game set in the early parts of the war would be fun.

    Dead Space

Yeah a new Privateer, new Armada (perhaps following the career of an officer through the Kilrathi war rather then one mission or campaign) and new Wing Commander game with novels would rule.

    AceNet Central Ships

I think I visited the site once before I had Internet at home. If I had the net I probably would have created a corvette or two and a few frigates and tried a story. Maybe a heavy fighter model or two but none Excalibur level.

    Lance Casey

I wonder if he took charge the way Bondarevsky took charge of Tarawa, or maybe if there was some kind of mid mission diaster that led to him taking charge of the wing or flight group or something.

    Terminator Salvation - Spoilers eventually...

The single biggest difference I remember is that in the novel John destroys the T-800's head while it is frozen so the whole heart transplant thing is skipped.

    Some more historical questions

If memory serves the Scimitars and Rapier-Is were in service for over a hundred years and the same is said of the Minotaur in Action Stations. In Wing Commander and some other Sci-Fi ship models stay in production and front-line service for a very, very long time so saying that just because the...

    Whatever happened to Knight?

It could be that Doomsday is only referring to the survivors of the Claw's final battle. As for Knight I'm pretty sure I remember seeing someone eject from his Broadsword in the movie.

    Confusion about Technology

In Sci-Fi it really isn't that rare for very, very old ships to still be in service. The Scimitar model from WC1 and Rapier-I model from WCM were over 100 years old before they were retired, and the Broadsword model is around 68 years old by Arena. And I believe that the Hellcat, Longbow, and...

The Ships of Privateer 3 (August 11, 2008)

The Demon was a human fighter in the original Privateer and they look enough alike that I believe this is the same fighter.

Timeline between Secret Ops & WC Arena..

Given that the Rapier-Is, and Scimitars were in service for over 100 years and we know that Rapier-IIs, Broadswords, and Arrow Vs were still in service during the Nephilim War I don't really see much of a basis for your complaint.

    Confed Corvettes

I was always disapointed that we never got to see more Confed corvette or frigate classes. All said in game we see 5 or 6 Confed destroyer classes, 4 cruiser classes, 1 frigate class, 1 corvette class, and 1 class claiming to be a destroyer but armed almost identically to the Kilrathi...
