    Just Because... (May 10, 2014)

I've heard that one doesn't usually get to pick one's own callsign, that it's a given thing. Still. Ouch.

    Star Citizen Grey Market

As with any grey market, some of the activity was due to people flipping ships (i.e. the usual buy 'low', sell 'higher'). In any game with persistent assets, that's going to happen. Of course, it does trip morality alarms in a lot of people, as one man's "entrepreneurship" is another man's...

    Star Citizen Grey Market

Yeah, you ain't kidding. I even saw one poster declare that the M50 (a racing ship - small, fast, huge engines, only a few hardpoints. Specs are very likely to change but its overall inclinations to its design probably are not) would be "useless" as a dogfighter because it has very light...

    Star Citizen Grey Market

It's anyone's guess why the grey market for Star Citizen is so active, but from a very early point in the original crowdfunding run, it was clear that people were enamored with the ships. AD's theories make sense; there are a lot of people on SC's forums that forget or don't quite appreciate...

Innovative Stretched Drayman Keeps Confed Well Supplied (February 16, 2014)

Amen on the logistics part. I'd always figured a strategic-level WC game would be big on it. Armada had transports too, I was always hoping that someday we'd see a fleet-level WC game. The Drayman would be the star, basically. Also: "Starfarer" magazine. Can't be a coincidence ;)

Mission 12 WC1 (save captured Ralari in Kurasawa)

Ah... what a classic mission :) Part of the problem is that you start so far away and the Gratha are already on an attack run, leaving the destroyer in pretty dire straits even if you have your afterburners lit the whole way there. Cycle through all the Gratha and taunt them all constantly -...

First encounter with Bhurak Starkiller in WC1 (mission 5)

I'm able to kill him more often than not on that mission, and I'm not exactly very good at the game. I usually let him develop target fixation on the Drayman, and while he's strafing it, I line up behind him and throw a full gun capacitor charge and (at least one) missile. He's not trying to...

Concordia's Flight Deck Filling with 3D Prints (June 3, 2013)

Some traditions just never go away! "Don't give me a P-39; the engine is mounted behind She'll tumble and roll, and she'll bore a deep hole Don't give me a P-39"

Star Citizen Rewards: Final Check (February 27, 2013)

Yup, that's the bronze metal card! :) If I'd had more money it would have been nice to get a few more, but good 'ol Player 1 was in reach, so there it is!

    Heart of the Tiger inapropiate?

Oh - I suppose it's possible that Hobbes could have received the trigger phrase in an encoded, encrypted, or subliminal manner while he was with Confed. But I hadn't seen any such suggestion of it anywhere, so I'm assuming all of his mental conditioning and cover identity programming was done...

    Heart of the Tiger inapropiate?

Maybe this is me being a little too simple-minded, but I always thought it was because Blair was the finest pilot on the Tiger's Claw, which was central to Kilrah's crushing defeat in the Vega sector. The trigger phrase would have had to have been presented to Hobbes at least before WC...

Gorgeous Rapier, Klavs! What's in the drop tanks, by the way? This one planning on a long flight without the scoops? (Might make sense for an Alert-5 intercept, I suppose)

    Difficulty levels explained

At least as of WC1, it wasn't supposed to be impossible in-universe. Claw Marks indicates that Skinner and Dibbles were sent, alone, to take down a destroyer in a pair of Scimitars, and nothing in the article suggests that they were part of a larger strike force. The article also doesn't...

    Missile Gripes Pt.1

Near but not completely useless. I used the side turrets gunship style for killing transports. Nice, leisurely flyby, and on manual those turret guns really put out the hurt.
