Sometimes I could get Pirates to be my buddies, but not cats. I was able to butter them up enough so that they stop shooting me, tho (even then, they STILL dis you.) :P
And on the origional topic, yeah, I want more jumping dammit!
The only word I can think of is "nyaaaaa..." :D
One thing tho: Scims are OLD craft. They were due for replacement by the Rapier I's in WC1. Can they compete with even more "modern" Cat fighters? Heck, even WC2 fighters?
Silly? Hardly. My computer (a Compaq custom with a P3 733 mhz and Win98) doesn't seem to use my book disk when rebooting. I do Restart in MS-DOS, and the memory (640K) is the same as when I don't use it. Plus, the floppy drive is obviously not accessed. What can I do?
In the origional WCI (don't know about KS version), it gave the date of the briefing before it began. Of course, I was all of 7 years old at the time and I don't remember the dates. :p
Well, what we've seen of the Steltek show them to be rather like the "Lavos" entity from the SNES game Chrono Trigger... same mouth/eye/whatever, certainly.
The Mopokes are rather like the Dwarves of old Terran myth, ex the beards. They are also red-skinned.
The Double-Helix are mentioned...
They're stored internally. Think about all the angles fighters are hit from in the 27th century: carrying missiles externally is at best a safety hazard.
Game-wise, of course, for I and II it was too hard to do, for the others it was tradition+practicality.
Yeah; Armada reamains the only "online" WC game, although in the era it was released servers were still unheard of.
Armada's real objective was testing the idea of a 3D flight engine. The engine from WCAr-WC4 are one and the same: minute improvements were simply made to each one...
I'm actually going to take the OPPOSITE route: for some ships (unless you're fighting a early T-K war conflict), the armor and "structure" values are going to be bumped up significantly. There WILL be a system to it, don't worry... if you want to take "old" ships up against the Bugs for example...
It's hard to say, because of the odd jump of continuity between WC2-WC3 (armor values...)
from the WC3-WCP era, hell yeah, the Flying Plasma Cannon all the way. :D
From the old era... hmm, a tie between the Crossbow (big pods, insane armor) and the Morningstar (a single NUCLEAR WARHEAD...
OK, no offence, but...
*bump*
If this still doesn't get any more replies, I'll leave it alone.
Any more thoughts on the idea?
Here's a few more of my beans:
Firstly, another reason I rejected a B5Wars mod is the scale problem they have. They use a Hex system, and a battlecruiser...
Since I've been around since Wing I, I can say that Kilrathi DO purr. In the Armada book, a letter from a Kilrathi Captain to his "Lair-mate" says his "heart purrs" at the thought of returning home victorious. Actually, Armada helped a LOT to flesh out Kilrathi practices.
