I just bought an Xbox 360 Wireless controller for my computer and i am wondering if there was anyway to remap functions in old wing commander games to specific buttons/axis.

The Wing Commander games don't have a built-in remapper, but DOSBox does. I've never used it, but version 0.70 and on includes the addition: "Improve the mapper so you can map keys to the joystick and vice versa." So you should be able to. http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Keymapper

Ive used a 360 controller for TF2 on PC:

1: I really wouldnt recommend it keyboard mouse Controller

2: If you really want to use one, just go to the control settings and switch it to xbox360controller. Everything gets mapped and you can change it if you want iirc
