Wing commander prophecy movie playback problems

I am having problems with movie playback in wing commander prophecy the video skips when i run the game and i tried downloading the d3dpatch which consists of a readme and a dll file but when i unzip it only the readme file shows up in the directory.I have a windows xp machine and when i unzip it there both files show up but when i copy it to a disk for transfer the dll will not show up that way either currently i am using dx9c on a nvidia ge force 4 mx440 if anyone else has had a similar problem please help thnks

There are different ways to fix it:

1. The easiest way is to install the Video-skip fix made by HCl

2. Another method is to disable hardware sound acceleration (doesn't work for everyone though...)

3. etc: forgot those, but guess the Video skip fix should solve it
