wing commander install question

Ok I just got a copy of wing commander prophecy and tried to install it on my computer. a full intall requires a little over 406 mb. now I've got a 40 gig hard drive. with some 28 gig available. now the intaller is showing only 6.1 mb available. so I'm wondering if this issue has come up before and if so how to get around it thanks.

Is your HD partitioned ? (do you see a C: and a D: in the Explorer ?) That may be the reason why you only see 6.1 MB instead of 28 GB.
