Wing Commander 1 (Kilrathi Saga) on ebay

I would be a potential buyer, except the listing says it will only be shipped to a 'confirmed' Paypal address. Well, my feedback and Paypal history speak for themselves, but I will absolutely not give Paypal the personal bank account information that they keep pestering me for to become 'confirmed'. In fact, just this morning, I was listening to the Armstrong and Getty radio show out of Sacramento and this very topic came up. A lady explained how by having a confirmed account, when an Ebay dispute arose, Paypal actually froze her bank account which made it impossible to make her house and car payments on time, causing obvious additional problems. Forget it.

I'm ready to bid if you remove the restriction.
 
Paypal can't "freeze" your bank account. Paypal can (and does) freeze your Paypal account in certain situations, and if you are holding money in your Paypal account that you were planning to shift to your bank account, then there could be a problem.
 
I wouldn't have thought so either, but the lady on the radio swore that somehow Paypal was actually able to freeze a separate bank account with Wells Fargo or Citibank or whatever it was.

Regardless, I feel MUCH safer only letting companies like that have my credit card info, which is much easier to dispute should a problem arise because they are still relying on me deciding to pay them. On the other hand, if they have access to your bank account, they can drain it dry and then it's up to you to try to get your own money back by going through whatever obstacles they put in front of you.
 
I think the lady must have been mistaken/wrong, but that's interesting. Personally I have multiple back accounts, and the one I tie to Paypal is kind of a low-balance/backup one.
