Who's your favorite non-pilot characters?

Technically, a First Lieutenant can command a ship if he's the highest ranking officer on board during a crisis or if he's assigned to command.

Or something. I think it works that way...

this is directly from the WCP Strategy Guide

Wilford entered ROTC-originally just to train to be an officer then go home to train other BW people

Wilford rapidly promoted to Captain (Navy) stays with Confed until war ends

War ends-Wilford returns to BW, rejoins BW navy promoted to Rear Admiral

Blair gets Wilford to rejoin Confed to command Midway and Wilford resumed Confed rank of Captain

Duke Grecko was cool! I mean, you gotta respect a General who actually is on the front-lines.

Most Generals sit behind a desk, or just sit a long way away from the action and send young people off to die. They usually have either forgotton how bad war was, or don't care anymore. Either way, sending people off to their death is nice and easy when you have a nice degree of detachment.

There's a very good reason for that. Being on the front lines is excellent when it comes to finding out the state of things. But it also suffers from its ability to end the life of a high-ranking military officer at the worst possible moment. And the death of a high ranking officer can halt a military operation in its tracks due to both problems in the command structure, and the blow to morale.

IIRC, during WW2, one of the British offensives in Africa came to a screeching halt when the general in charge of British troops in northern Africa was captured in his scout car, along with his staff, by a German patrol.

Edit: !? This is a new one. How exactly did I get my post placed earlier in the thread than the post I was responding to?

Is Tolwyn is a non-pilot character though? We know he was a pilot in his early career, and he was still able to fly when he was a Commodore in WCA.

My favorites would be General Grecko, Eisen and Sparks, in no particular order.

Best, Raptor

It's probably all the crack you've been on lately.

I observed some problems with the site today. (www.wcnews.com was down for about 2 hours in my area I know for sure but the chatzone was only down for thirty and then it was accessible) so that might have been the problem it was weird cause I could get to the chatzone through the UE site but not WC CIC. I don't know if others had experienced the same thing but that might explain that error between the posts.

Really ?? I dont have such problems here ....

Maybe the Moderators/Admins know smth

The E channel did a special on her. It was interesting, the trials and tribulations of a wannabe actress who had to resort to porn. Practically the story of my life, except I wasn't in Wing Commander. ( I wish)
