Spaceman
wingcommander game for me i like 3 hart of a tiger beacause it was the coolest one out there, from what i think. well i just waht to know see you all arrond.

3, the best i ever played, i love that game, I felt a part of it. the game was just, amazing lol. it still is too.

WC3 all the way !!!!
Excellent story, better music, the best ship in all the sci-fi universes ,the all mighty THUNDERBOLT VII...(a little exagerated???), godd actors (Luke Skywalker,Biff Tannen, the porn girl,Mr. McDowell,Arturo from Sliders :) )
i forgotted something ????

Definately WC3 , even though i think Prophecy played better it never matched WC3 in the coolness factor. I felt a part of the story and i was actually excited to fly a new ship , Mmmm Excalibur...

Personally, I though WC3 was the best overall, especially in combining gameplay with story.

Best, Raptor

Nostalgia tells me WC1... :)

Quality tells me WC4: high quality graphics, high quality gameplay, high quality FMV, high quality actors... you go on...

WC3 was my favorite. It's the game that got me started, played through it many times, but I can't get enough of that game. Everything was done perfectly.

WCIV: Best story of any game that I have ever seen, combined with IMHO the best graphics of any WC game, and the gameplay was truely enjoyable, plus it wasn't easy it was a difficult game to play

WC IV.
WC III is really good, it would be my fav if WC IV was not above it in several aspects (tecnical most).
Story of WC IV is also diferent, sure the Kilrathi are still around but it apeals more to me the story of WC IV.
WC P was disapointing for me mostly because "ground" missions and cloaking were missing and the AI was very simple.
WC II gives me a good feel of the war (I had not played WC I) but right now the engine is so far behind that it cannot compare to WC III - P (of course that I feel that because I played WC II after III and IV so its not a suprise).

The Privatters are diferent, P I is still my favorite since its familiar P II is too "alien" of the whole universe to me to enjoy it.

Has to be WC4, if for no other reason than it was my first WC experience ever (wow, it's been almost four years now since I took a chance and rented it... aren't I glad I did that :)).

in some sort of order...

WC4 had it all, the great story, great FMV and gameplay.

WC3 had the Kilrathi, which mean a lot but it was imho inferior to WC4 in every other respect and it looks really dated now (prob'ly because it is).

WC1 was the first, obviously, and still holds a special place because of that. At the time it was groundbreaking.

Prophecy got a little bit boring really, compared with the others. Nice touches though.

WC4 just only looks slightly less dated than WC3. The quality of the sets (they had them!) were better in WC4 along with Uniforms and such but the technology wasnt that much better. I like the textures in 3 better than 4. In 4 the ship textures make them look like they are made out of bricks.

I think the story of WCIV would have cooler if instead of defecting to the Border Worlds, you stayed on the Lexington. Then you wouldn't know who you could and couldn't trust, and maybe even freinds would betray you at some point.

Also, i'll tell my story about how I played WC3 and loved it. My freind had rented it for PSX. I had looked at it before and thought it looked really dumb. I mean talking cats, come on! So my freind rents it and I happen over. He tells me he rented this really cool game. I don't want to play it at all, but he talks me into it. The intro alone had me hooked.

The story in WC4 proved just how great a hero Blair was. He had to give up everything he had, risking his life, turning his back on everything he knew because he knew it was the right thing to do and that it was the only way to keep innocent people from getting killed. He had served Confed almost all his life but when it became apparent that Confed was doing bad things he left to fight it.

I insist that every main WC is great in its own right. I'm surprised no onw has mentioned WC2 for it's brilliant storytelling yet. :(
