WCS: Confed Legacy Venture Class

Well after 3 months(bout 3 days actual modelling time) i finally finished(most of it today, especially the major portions(guns, cockpit, engines, fuselage, (get my drift)) all i lack right now is the textures, this'll give me a chance to tinker with Deep Paint 3D and Deep UV for lightwave... hopefully if everything goes as scheduled i'll have a textured venture out next week

take high notice of the detail on the guns, i originally choose to do Octogonal to get a more roundish look, but went to a hex shape for Poly count reasons

Here are the Specs on it
2240 Points
1740 Polygons
i do still however need to go hunt and pick for those Unseen polys so i can get rid of them, also as with any HWorHW2 model i'll need to make LOD's (levels of Detail)

got a few messages asking just what in the world did i base this on "it doesn't look like what i've seen before"

well considering i was going solely by the schematic i think its very close to what it looks like in that schem...

but then again i've noticed diferences in the blueprints and whats in game...

well i've given up on Deep Paint 3D, seems to be harder than normal texturing..
so i did up these textures in about 5 mins(DEFANTLY SHOWS!)

but to get a idea what is done, the mesh is finished i just gotta refine down the textures...

dag nabbit i thought i had the mesh finished, theres pylons from the guns to the main hull i'm missing, should have it fixed later
 
I wish I could make pretty ships but I have a short attention span.....what was that again.....*blinks* oh yeah pretty ships :)

looks very nice. I like it. And as said above it is very close to the original blueprints :)

Now it only needs better textures :cool:
 
heh i have no artistic talents when it comes to textures :p

i can make basic textures and specialised textures but general/hull/armor textures just baffle me
 
Venture Class V1.0

I personally think its finished short of shaving polys and making high poly parts low poly..

*AHEM* Poly count will go down when i start shaving polys(right now the guns, turrets, and engines are 1000 polys)


*NOTE* it's not that rough around the edges (screenshot program does that, dont ask me why)

If you rendered it instead of taking pictures of the viewpanes it'd look a bunch prettier :)
