WCPedia: WC1 Script Now Available

LOAF and Kris have been kind enough to upload the script to the CIC. I should warn you though, it's not as easy a document to decipher as I thought it would be. You will need to open the document in something besides notepad, as it doesn't appear to recognize the breaks correctly.

You'll also notice that it's got some interesting "junk lines." I'll let LOAF explain.

The two lines are actually interesting. One of them is information for the game that we can't read... but if you look closely you'll see that the other is the elaborate phonetic script, which the game uses to determine how the character's mouths move.

Origin gave up including a proper phonetic script by the time the addons showed up - instead the characters just mouth 'dipstick' over and over.

You'll also notice that certain values are missing from the script, names, times, etc. We'll need to fill those in at the appropriate points. I'd suggest using Wedge's site to fill in the blanks in the script, but use the actual script text for importing to WCPedia.

The first 16 pages of the script have to do with death, promotion and award scenes. Missions start at page 17 (in MS Word).

I've just had a thought, if the addon script just mouths dipstick continually, could we modify it to do the phonetics?

Seems like it'd be an awful lot of work just to stare at their mouths.
