WCP/SO Help

Every time I open up Secret Ops and when the Intro is about to begin the program shuts down and I get a message that says


Fatal!

Iff: Open read 0 of 203760 in audio/soundfx/00000226.iff


The same happens when I play WCP Sim missions or the first mission.

Please help!!!

Have you done anything to the speech or audio tre, files, etc.?

No and I reinstall to make sure, got the same results everytime.

What OS are you using? If you're using a Voodoo 2, have you applied the patch?

I'm using a Windows 98 Operating system. I'm using a labtop computer an IBM Thinkpad.

What sort of graphics card/API do you use? ... Um, is your soundcard doing alright?

I don't know.The labtop was given to my brother at his school and his doesn't know.How would I find that out?

Open the SO launcher and Select Video Card.

I did that and all it says is 'software' but there is something called DirectX V6.0 that I installed a few months back when I could actually play the game.

I think i need to take the labtop to a repair shop.

Hm... Well, I doubt you'll need to go to such lengths. But... there is a soundcard in that thing, right? Sound coming out ok in other applications? If you get the latest drivers for that and whatever graphics card you have, it should be smooth sailing from there.

Can you select something else than Software as a graphics card?

Perhapes if you can change it from Software to Hardware it would solve the problem.
