WCP prophecy.exe error

Hi i' was an avid WCP player a few years back and now i wanna play again i finally go tmy hands on a copy and it doesn't work!


my problem is that when i install the game it works fine then when it's time ot play. it says prophecy.exe error

i'm running XP Pro, anyone know what i can do? should i find a new prophecy.exe and paste that into my folders?
 
actually yes, i tried changing it to 95 and 98, the thing is it gives me that error

that says yhere's an error with prophecy.exe etc etc.please send this report to w/e

Did you try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game? Were any patches applied? Can you open up the Launcher and try the game in software or D3D mode?
 
i've tried reinstalling yes, and i can't run it in either soft or d3d,

and patches ihaven't dled any, i have no idea where to go. i've tried looking on wcnews.com but to no avail.
 
prophecy.exe error

i have the exact same problem. anyone figure this out yet?

It still sounds like a corrupt installation to me. I'd completely uninstall and try to get any remnants out of your registry before reinstalling. Alternately, something else you have installed is causing a conflict. After doing a fresh installation, make sure as many background problems as possible are shut down before starting the game.

You need to register too so we can keep you guys straight.
 
Okay, so i registered :D

and i also tried a full reinstall for the game and to no avail. okay now i took apciture of the error for you all to see

any suggestions? i tried running in all the differe compatabilities.

This would be more useful if it was a screenshot of the error report that your image says you can look at by clicking the link.

Also a list of system specs, and programs you have running in the background would be helpful.

Okay system specs

Amd 2600+ 1gb of ram, 80gb HDD, ATI 9200 128mb,

In both those screenshots there are scroll bars. That is not the entire message. It actually seems like there might be quite a bit you didn't paste. Can you just copy the text and post it here? Deleting all temp files and making sure prophecy.exe isn't running partially in the background might help too.

Why not? Try Highlighting it and go Ctrl+C

If you have to do it in parts, paste it into notepad and then paste the whole thing here. If you can't, read it and tell us anything that looks remotely relevant.

On the "Error report contents" window, left-click on the bit where it says "Exception information".

Then hold the mouse button and drag it down until it scrolls and goes to the end of the message. You'll see the entire message being highlighted.

Press the Ctrl and C keys at the same time.

Open a notepad window, and press the Ctrl and V keys. The contents should then be copied.

Include the full contents in your next post :)

^ ~~~ i know HOW to, it just won't let me, it won't give me that that "I" looking thing when i try to highlight the letters.

Try a manual install. Copy over these files and then apply the Maximum Installation registry patch in our Files section.

prophecy.exe error

windows 2000 pro , geforce 6800gt , audigy 2 value getting prophecy.exe error

i have all those files in the folder and they match the size on the 3 disks.
when i click on play or choose video card and screen goes black for a second then get error box. prophecy.exe has genereted errors program must be restarted. it says it is creating an error log but one doesnt appear.
i have reinstalled the game a couple times always the same.
