WCATV: AVI to VCD

[Unforgiven]

A long time ago someone here was encoding Video CDs from the WCATV AVI files to view them with a DVD player. Now I also have a DVD player and want to do the same.
Now my question to that person is: what MPEG encoder did you use?
I try to use XingMPEG encoder, but it freezes after a few frames.

Thanks, it works great!
Now to check if my DVD player reads CD-RWs.

Yep it does. Tonight my PC will be chunking away converting those beasties, and then I'll be set to go!

PS: Isn't it interesting that a free MPEG Encoder actually works better than one that costs $249?

While we're here (sorta), is it possible to take screenshots of DVD scenes? Or is this the sorta thing you get banned for?

I think it depends on the program you use to watch 'em. I know ATI DVD lets you.

PowerDVD can. There's no copyright infringement as long as you don't use them for anything else than personal use.
