wc3 and windows xp

I cant get the sound to work on my SB Audigy when playing WC3 in Windows XP. I can play the game fine without sound, but needless to say that sucks. Has anybody found either a working configuration and/or work around with the Audigy in Win XP?
 
Basically Xp has 0 to no support for most DOS programs. IT doesn't matter if the card has DOS emulation, it's XP. I have the same exact problem. There some emulation software for Xp, I think it's something VMD. Try asking around the forums because I forget the whole name of it.
 
I tried vdmsound and it worked for every game--except wc3. God this is frustrating. The sound sample plays in the installation screen just fine, but before the game can completely load it shuts me out when loading a sound sample file. I'm guessing that there's not too much hope here.
