WC:P movie problem fixed, now the game pauses

I fixed the Directsound hardware acceleration problem and now the movies play perfectly. The inflight gaming works perfectly fine too! EXCEPT when the damn game pauses and locks up my computer! I can't escape out of the game, I can't get back to Windows at all, and it's always on the second mission after rescueing Maniac. All three times it's been when one of the aliens is babbling before being destroyed, and the game just up and locks up. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Celeron 366
64 megs of ram
Voodoo 3 3000
Aureal Vortex 2
Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital
 
Problem

Well, I'm guessing it had to do with the Voodoo card, since I downloaded that Voodoo patch from Origin customer support and I put that to use and all my problems went away completely.

I have to say though, prior to figuring everything out with the help I got from here, good lord this game was just about the most difficult installation I've ever gone through. It was horrible! Lockups up the ass!
