In the spirit of the WCA TV series, I have begun a comic strip which I'll post on a web site, onve the site has been created.

So far I haven't done much except really just some drawings of craft, pilots and bit of storyline for perhaps the first issue.

Though I think the first issue will most likely be of Iasson getting fragged by the furballs.

Ideas for story lines will be accepted (and probably used as well!)

Setting is around 2655, though possibly post Tiger's Claw. Much as in the TV series Scimitars will be a large part of it (they are the easiest 2650 era craft to draw) along with Rapiers and Raptors, I plan to incorporate the Hornet but its a tricky one to draw correctly.

For those interested the main vessel is the TCS Perth, a new experimental crusier designed to provide fleet support and forward attacks (hence 40 strong fighter compliment), The Exeter class will be involved, a new Drayman design, and the Exeter 2 class (refit), the Bengals may even get a spot along with some other Confed Capships and fighters (WC2-3).

For the Kilrathi, I plan to have all WC1 fighters and capships seen at least once or twice (maybe not the Sivar), some WC2 (Grikath and Sartha), and one or two capships from WC3 (Fralthi 2). Also several new designs to spice things up a bit :)

Hopefully the first part will be out next month (maybe later depending on other commitments).
 
Well..............I was going to do something like that but with Wc3 Wc4 era ships.....and with 3d background etc....
Its not easy and it requires lots of work buddy :)

Well yes it is a big task, given I'm looking to also show some of the less 'seen' parts of the Kilrathi War, noteably the Iason incident and the the Battle for Reepletah (good ground pounder action!), and maybe the Battle for Earth, a nice chance to throw in some custom vessels!

Otherwise it will centre around the crew of the Perth (subject name change).

As for the graphics, it will all be hand drawn then thrown on the puter for the backgrounds, if anyone would like to do some backgrounds that would be great (as I suck using a computer for drawing, just cleaning up pics.)

Thanks TCSTigersClaw, if you want to help out in anyway it would be nice (I do need a script writer given I'm not very good at that aspect).
 
The time between the Iason attack and Repleetah is pretty long. The battle of Repleetah alone was huge.
Is the Perth going to be involved in all of this, cause in the timespan I would think that a lot of the pilots would retire of old age.
Anyway the idea sound great, I can't wait!

Might just have the Perth involved in all of these engagements.

Start with perhaps an Exeter class Perth (responding to destruction of the Iason) then go all the way to the new cruiser (name not decided yet) and her escorts at Repleetah flying escort for troop ships, and attacking Kilrathi troop ships.

Oh yeah for the tech boys out there here are some stats for some of the ships that will be in the comic.

The Perth's escorts are a new frigate class, the 'Wolf' class.

Armament: 3 Las Turrets, 4X2 missiles.
Defences: Shields 17/15 (Front/Rear) Hull 15/14/14 (Front/Sides/Rear)
Fighter compliment: 2

As for the Perth (2650s experimental, 'still need a name' class)

Armament: 7 Las Turrets, and 2 Phalanx missile systems (four tubes on each 'wing' firing DF, FF or IR).
Defences: Shields 27/26 Hull 25/23/24
Fighter compliment: 46

Exeter 2 class (2655+)

Armament: 5 Las Turrets, 4X1 Missiles
Defences: 25/24 Hull 23/22/22
Fighter compliment: 6
 
Does anyone know in which sector the Iason was destroyed in? I imagine it was somewhere in Vega, probably checking new jump points I spose.


I've made a side on drawing of the Iason, I'm using the style from the WC Movie for her forward hull (that sort of oval shaped armour section covering the internal hull), I guess even explorer ships has some sort of weaponry (this case two laser turrets).

Haven't decided on the Kilrathi destroyer yet.


Hmm at this rate I'll have the 'Iason Incident' done in a couple of weeks!:D

Are there any sources that tell us when particular ships were launched (ex Exeter class, Waterloo, Ranger etc).

Well I've decided to start with Iason incident, this won't be a terribly long comic, but a good place to start I think. (It is after all the first event that leads to discovery of the Kilrathi, and later the war itself).

After that I'll probably begin the adventures of the TCS Perth as seen from four pilots aboard her.

Names for the pilots are still being decided, but the callsigns are:

Moose
Huntress
Vapor
Cowboy

All are 2nd Louies, if anyone wants to put forward names for the pilots I'll certainly consider them (if not accept straight away:D )

The ships CO, XO, Comms, Wing Commander, and Chief Tech are also undecided, again please put forward any ideas you have.

Well guess this leaves the backup cast, or cannon fodder if you prefer, these guys will probably just have callsigns I guess.

The next update I plan to have some scanned images from the Iason Incident (probably of the captain the Iason and the kilrathi destroyer).

I 've started drawing the 'The Iason Incident' problem is I'm a bit stuck as I haven't decided precisely what the Kilrathi destroyer will look like, but in two weeks I plan to have it done!
