Using a mouse in WC3

I have a quick question about using a mouse in-flight in WC3: Is there a way to retain the ability to afterburn by pressing tab on the keyboard? As is, the only way I can afterburn is by double-clicking the right mouse button, which is very awkward and of limited usefulness.
 
It should work. I can both double-tap the second joystick-button and press Tab in WC4 to afterburn. As far as I can tell, the controls in WC3 are pretty much identical.
 
And yet it doesn't. When I'm using the mouse as the input device (as marked in the Ctrl-O Gameflight menu during play), I can't use TAB to afterburn. Has anyone overcome this problem? Like tweaking a configuration file in the WC3 directory or something?
