Whiplash
Rear Admiral
Howdy folks,
Surprised there isn't a thread on this already. Given we all enjoying things that fly and go pew pew, and that the film shares a name with our favourite blue-hair protagonist, what did you think of Top Gun: Maverick?
Not going to do a detailed breakdown here, but suffice it to say I have not been this entertained by a film for ages. I have now seen it on the big screen a total of three times, and would happily watch it again. Straightforward story, nothing complicated or groundbreaking there, but so well executed. The flight sequences are just superb. It pays very respectful homage to the original without ever trying to milk it for cheap nostalgia. Overall, I feel it was well worth the decades spent in the making.
Anyhow, that's my very short summary. Thoughts?
