I was questioning the random nature of that claim, not the validity of the statement itself ;)

Thanks for the moral support, Tye. I tried one more time. mIRC 16-bit version. It really works. With a good portion luck and much work. I'll see how long. :)

heh... speaking of being able to see, I just got a new monitor on the weekend. My old one finally died after a year of showing me a purple wash over everything. Poor thing died with dignity... and it was OLD, too. No OSD. Freaky, no?

Couldn't be half as annoying as my old monitor which kept losing its red colour. With each whack, the red stayed less and less...

My monitor cable lost it's blue channel earlier this summer, if you think having a purple tint to everything is annoying, try having everything be yellow.. However a few weeks ago I found that if i bend my cable to just the right angle, everything works fine again. Works for the time being, until I can afford a new monitor.

My last monitor started to smoke after I accidently left it on too long. The smell of purnt plastic and metal is interesting...

My current monitor comes with an auto-off switch, so it won't burn as well. :)

That's how Dad's ancient 286 'laptop' died - smoke started pouring out from the back, I assumed battery fluid leaked.

And yet the Commodore 64 in my basement that is used only to play Blade Runner works just fine... Not to mention the hook-ups on the monitor allow it to be a TV as well. :D

I spent an entire summer looking at a screen that was tinged yellow. I figured it was because of the 3d acclerator card I put in it. Turns out one of the prongs on the cable was bent. I straightened it and celebrated my non-piss looking screen

*L* The scourge of the monitors, huh?

Well, I'm celebrating this new monitor still, because it's the first time in a year that I've been able to see my ITTS in Prophecy. :) With the purple wash, green disappeared into black.

That's the same problem I had with my old Monster 3D. It sure annoyed me to play WCP with that color. I also had some strange dark lines at the bottom. I don't know why they left but they're gone and that's what matters. :)
