try googling for basilisk 2 mac emulator, that's the name of it, or try sheepshaver, sheepshaver is the new powerpc emulator that may be able to run wc 3/4 mac editions as well as swc. I'm testing sheepshaver at the moment but don't have a mac os 8.6 copy to test it with.
btw the 68040 gives great speed results, probably because it's been around for years and isn't as complex as ppc.
