Surprising moments

I think I would have had some problems to identify with a gay alter ego. But what a fun it would have been to see what that would have been for an impact on the WC fans... :)

And why is Flint no officer? She is a 2nd Lt., does it not count as officer rank? It is the lowest possible I know but it should still be an officer.

Iceman never did anything disrespectable towards a superior, AFAIK. And Casey did not slaughter those Kilrathi although he knew what they had done to his father.

Well, Flint *is* an officer, which is why I said that only one of them was an officer. Rachel would be an NCO rather than an officer proper.

And that means that...
<Thrak> Only one of them is worthy of being treated as a warrior! </Thrak> :)

Well they certainly arent acting like an officer and a gentleman:)

Yeah. When I play through WC3 I don't choose *either*
of them. Why? Because it's incredibly unprofessional
behavior to become romantically involved with someone
in your command. It leads to charges of favoritism,
catfights, bad blood between people, etc. etc.

So when I play through, I keep my relationship with both
Flint and Rachel on a professional level. That way,
Flint stays on my wing, Rachel services my airplane,
and my real-life wife, Susan, who often watches over
my shoulder, doesn't grab me by the neck. :)

Oh yes .. most surprising moment for me actually came
in WCP:SO. I was expecting a game a little like privateer,
hunting down pirates, renegade Nephilem, maybe clashing
with the Kilrathi or two, and then all of a sudden here
come all these Bugs! The depth and enormity of the
incursion just completely took me by surprise. But
I was disappointed. I was hoping for more than just a
bug-whacking festival. I was looking for, y'know, DEPTH.
I wanted to meet some salvaging pirates ,dagnabit!

Well if your going to attack your enemy's homeworld while a massive fleet is hanging in orbit, I, like Blair, would take a "I wont be alive tomorrow so to Hell with today" attitude and just try to be happy with the remaining time i had left.

Nah. She has to be under Blair's command, whatever
her service. Reasoning:

1. Blair is responsible for all spacecraft, pilots,
and other components that make up the ship's wing.

2. Rachel is working on something Blair is responsible for.

3. Responsibility for something implies authority over
something. Since Rachel works on Blair's planes,
Rachel is subordinate to Blair in all matters relating
specifically to the wing's spacecraft. Since this
encompasses practically all of her duties, Blair
is, if not her Master and God, at the very least
a very significant personality to deal with. Blair
might not be able to assign her to waste recycling,
but he could go to the Deck Boss and pull her off
of working on *any* of his spacecraft. Since there
aren't many spacecraft on the Victory that don't
fall under Blair's purview, that means she gets to
spend a lot of time peeling potatoes or drunk in
the bar.

So its disintegration for Rachel and evisceration for Flint? :)

Yep. And hell, it's just a game. :)

I still refuse to believe that Tolwyn went out the way he did. I understand it, it makes sense, but I'm infuriated that he went THAT way. I mean, look at all the good he did! I don't agree with what he did, but...

Lets just say I'm really PO'd still at the Borst/De Palma screenwriting team...

Waaaaaaaait, Sparks wasnt Navy...I thought she was a Civie until Fleet Action...

Does that apply to Rachel?

Hehe... imagine if those were actually options :).
Kiss Rachel - disintegrate Rachel. Kiss Flint - rip Flint's guts out.

And LeHah, I thought that was actually a very natural development of the Tolwyn character. He was always borderline insane - he simply went over the edge. I'm much more angry at Forstchen, who not only tried to make it look like Blair still admired Tolwyn (yeah... right; after Telamon?), but also only gave Tolwyn a life sentence, which I felt was an inexcusable change of what was, after all, canon. Not that it mattered in the end, what with Tolwyn hanging off the ceiling...
