Suits are here

Modeled by yours truly. My suit and Monee's fit just fine. The material isn't the canvas of the real suit, but will serve even better. It's much much lighter, and will be reasonably comfortable in the Atlanta heat.

ISSUES/PROBLEMS

- On the left shoulder is a few pockets, which I demonstrated in one of the pictures. We may be able to remove them, or sew over them. This can be done pretty easily.
- The middle flap might be a tight squeeze, and it may necessitate removing the chest pockets. This won't be so easy, but not drastically difficult.
- You can see just below my collar on the left is a dull patch. This is a blank velcro nametag. It can be removed easily, if we want to, or thre tags can be decorated somehow.
- Not exactly a problem, just worth noting. The hip pockets aren't pockets, they're just openings into the suit. It wouldn't be a problem to go without jeans underneath, but be careful, you'll essentially have three flys. Also, it makes for easy handjob access. :)

BEFORE WE CAN GET TO WORK

- What do you want to do about the pockets above? Monee suggests removing them. On the chest pocket, I note that we can sew over them, as we're all more likely to use the thigh pockets.
- Nametags: They aren't "canon," but might be useful with those of us that are new. Do we want them?
- PICS! We need better pics of the front flap, or at least we need to know how many buckles each needs.

Monee and I are going to be hitting the fabric store shortly to get a few yards of cloth for this, as well as the strapping, the thread for the patches, and some basic tools for them. The faster we have decisions on this, the better.

I've no opinion on the pocketing/de-pocketing matter. Whatever you think looks best is fine, I'm sure.

I'll install my camera stuff and take some pictures of the front flap on the Spyder suit.

As for nametags... we'll have the D*C IDs, so I don't think we need WC-style ones... do we? Up to y'all, I guess.

Monee is going to start on the nametags and sleeve pockets then. The chest pockets will be trickier, because one corner intersects the main side stitching. We'll be able to consult with my master sewing mother tomorrow on those.

I'm personally a big fan of pockets, so whatever pockets can be saved would be great. However we are going for the Prophecy look here, so whatever modifications you deem necessary to make them more resemble WC flightsuits is fine. I'd like nametags, but only if they were in line with other WC nametags. Although the Prophecy flightsuits didn't have tags, other different suits in the WC universe did have tags that could be used as an example. Otherwise the DC badges we get will be fine.. Is there a way to specifically mount our DC badges on the gray patch? Each suit needs five buckles. There should be enough buckles for 18 suits.

Here's some example shots

Oh no, those belong to monee and I.

A year or so ago, my little cousin got a smaller super soaker for his birthday, and he celebrated by soaking any members of the family that went outside. Monee and I hit Toys R Us looking for something to give him a good fight with, and found those behemoths. You shoulda seen the look on his face when we pulled those out of the trunk. Needless to say, he was drenched, and we were mostly dry after the massacre.

The pockets that needed removing are all removed. Three have the flaps sewed on, another is in progress. The patches are going on the first of those (mine, so if Monee screws up I'll be the one that looks funny). Once it's done we'll see what we can do about getting pictures.

The flap and buckles look great. We used a sheet of canvas folded in between two sheets of a simple cloth that had a closer color to the flightsuits. Turns out the color there isn't perfect, but it's barely noticeable, and even if you can see it it's not super ugly or anything.

I wish there was a way to get the collars done, but there's just not the time to figure them out. Oh well.
