Screenshots Release Thread

Here's the Vindicator with the new lynxerific paintjob! It's the samestyle as in WC4, but with a better color palette and optimised for shine mapping. Too bad that this model falls victim to the strange ligthing that occurs sometimes.

If I were you, I'd redo the model with more detail. The lighting on places like the cockpit and the tail fin would probably look better if they had more polygons... not a solution to the problem, but it should at least be an improvement.

I'd do that, but I'm barely hanging on with my work that I have now. Maybe someone else in our team can reconvert the model using smooth shading, that would probably solve the problem...

the work on the specular maps for capital ships has begun: here is the famous TCS CV-40 Victory

Not to make people think we're lazy or something, I'll post this: Behold of the glory of this high detailed Banshee! :D

BTW I'm overworking some other of the old low-poly WC3/4 models. No more strange lighting bugs. ;)

The Waterloo-class served as Confed's primary heavy cruiser during the late 2650s and 2660s. They were designed as larger capital ships that could carry a tiny wing of fighters. They were used to escort convoys and to launch their own airstrikes without the support of a fleet carrier. All of them were refitted with phase shields and Anti-Matter Gun turrets in the early 2660s when such technology was introduced into ConFleet service. These made the Waterloos not only dangerous "mini carriers" but also formidable anti-capship vessels as well.

Production of the Waterloo-class stopped in the mid 2660s, when Confed shipbuilding decided that producing escort carriers could give ConFleet the same fighter capacity but at a much cheaper cost. The majority of the Confed's remaining Waterloo cruisers was either destroyed in combat or in drydock during the Battle of Earth, and has been effectively replaced by the Tallahassee-class fleet cruiser after 2668.

Here's our Gothri. It doesn't look as WC3ish as it should be, but I was too tempted to put a sharks mouth on it.(And we already know that you are good, Eder :p ):

My mouth literally dropped open. The shinemapping on that is ungodly beautiful. The ship itself is sleek, lean, and lethal. The one improvement I could see if your trying to make it look WC3-ish is to add some red "blood" to the "cutting edges" of the wings and nose, similar to the Vaktoth.
