Can't tell you 'bout Doomsday, I'm not sure myself, but I can tell you 'bout Jazz: Let's just say that he's the reason confed fighters don't (or atleast shouldn't
tongue.gif
) have a self destuct system activated after ejecting...

Jazz is dead. I killed him myself.

I don't know about Doomsday. I think he works for Landreich now. You know, that place that doesn't exist on WCU maps

I killed Jazz too, he keeps coming back. He's like a bad penny, he always turns up.

Doomsday was diognosed with clinical depression and put into an asylum. I personally think he's really standing on the flightdeck of the FRLS Mjollner, hanging around with Bear.
Earthworm might know something else, he loves Bear, and envies his buddies.

Well, yes, I suppose you could choose not to kill him. You can always eject, anyway. But why would you? The bastard deserves to die even more than Seether did.

Hehehe, I just love watching him try to eject from that Morningstar going *KABOOM*
smile.gif

Anyway, as I got it, his ejection-self-destuct system got too much damage and went off as soon as he ejected...

Yeah, I think he even makes Bear look like a swell guy, well almost.

As for that creampuff, I'm surprised he wasn't killed earlier, but I figuired he had to get killed off after that bar scene.

Morningstars are greatly flawed, and it shows. The only real good thing that came from them was the death of Jazz.

Well, others ejected out of the Morningstar (Maniac on a fairly regular basis
wink.gif
), so it's not the self-destruct charge. I think he just overestimated himself, and the final shot took him by surprise. Serves the bastard right.

Oh, and Death's Head? Nothing makes Bear look like a swell guy.

I'll never forgive him for those particle cannon bullet holes through the back of my ship.

Well, it you'll look cearfully you'll see that he did try to eject. You can see his pod/seat/whatever goes up a bit before his ship goes to hell.

And I there's nothing wrong with the self-destruct charge in the Morning star. Jazz took to many hits and his (and only his
wink.gif
) self-destruct charge got smashed (atleast that's how I see it)

Doomsday either retired or was RIF'd after the Kilrathi War. He ended up as a squadron commander in the Landreich... read False Colors, that's where we last see him.

Doomsday, Maniac, Paladin & Shotglass are, IIRC, the only 'pictured' characters in Wing Commander 1 who are still alive.

Yeah, how did Shotglass survive? Did he retire before the 'Claw went to Enigma?

Q, I said almost.

Ejection pod issue, well that ejection system must have been damaged, cause it looks like Jazz had to jump out.
smile.gif

I have to revise my earlier statement about the Morningstar, it was one of the first fighters that use standard jump drive, which means it could have led to smaller ships like the Ferret and Piranha to make jumps. The prototype Rapier had a different kind of jump tech didn't it? If not, uh oh.

Nobody knows about Shotglass, I think. It's one of the universe's mysteries

.

As for the ejection thing, I know he tried to eject; he just did it too late, that's all.

You mean how the KIS Karga was renamed the FRLS Mjollnir, I'm sure
smile.gif

Nobody knows how Shotglass survived, but he did, according to VoW.

Lots of small ships besides the Morningstar have been moutned with jump drives, some significantly earlier.

I think the point was that Jazz tried to eject too late -- afterall, *all* fighters have self destruct mechanisms
