Prophecy crashes during missions

8gig HDD with 5 gig free
Windows 98Se
DirectX 8.1

Latest version of all drivers installed

Problem:

Prophecy crashes on me during missions, whilst im flying the entire game will hang (usually whilst a wingman is saying something) and in turn this crashes the entire computer. The only way to clear it is to hit my restart button....anyone know why its doing this??
 
guess: disable sound acceleration in Directx.

that´s the miracle medicine for all Prophecy´s problems :)
 
ok

turned that off......game crashed again! :( however i think it might be my graphics card, i went into the launcher to see which graphics it was using (Direct 3D or Glide, it's using Glide) and as soon as I clicked OK the launcher crashed my entire computer :(

Anyone got any ideas??
