How 2 Fix?? Need 2 reinstall The Game??

Btw, i'm using a dell laptop with Specs:

P4 M 2.0Mhz
384 MB ram
ATI radeon 9000 mobile chip
sigmatel audio

It shouldn't -- thanks for the heads up. Tryto unzip those onto a clean install of Priv Remake...

Sorry for the inconvernience, we're still testing afterall.

its alrite, but i notice tat the new updates are not included wif the Sol and Enigma sector in the sector folder while the old upgrade did, do i need those files?

btw, how often will the upgrade be updated??

Sol and Enigma have been pulled 'coz they don't work... if you want to fix them please do :)

The upgrade will be updated as soon as we can, if you want to help, feel free!

Heaven and Gemini don't work for me, either. Gemini is supposed to connect Junction, Troy, and some system in Sol, right? It only has one jump, presently: to Junction, plus a mining base. Heaven is supposedly reachable from J900, but it isn't. There was another system not working, started with an A, in the Vega sector, that a lot of missions go there.
I was looking at some wc_universe.xml file, and at a lot of places I see either <jumps> or <halfjumps> or <fulljumps>, whatever that means. But I noticed Troy had two lists: one of jumps and one of halfjumps, but in the halfjump list, Heaven is missing.

Anyways, OOT, I saved 300,000 and went to New Detroit for my new ship. They had two demons, one labeled (escort), the other (strike). Difference appeared to be that escort had light misile tubes, strike had heavy ones. I bought strike, thinking that heavy tubes would be compatible with everything. No. Only protons.
So, I reloaded and this time I bought the escort one. Surprise surprise, it would not accept FOF missiles either; --only heatseakers and dumbos. What gives? Is there any place I should go to buy a demon that can carry FOF's?

Well the difference between escort and strike is that escorts can carry missile and strike can carry torpedos -- unfortuantely right now FOF missiles are in the same slots as torpedos. Thanks for telling me, I thought I fixed it a while ago.

Dan_W- It almost sounds like you do not have the WCU stuff installed for your sectors (maybe they were not overwritten when you installed WCU over P:R?), or maybe when the non-Gemini sectors were pulled, someone went back and changed the Gemini system files to not contain the out-sector jump points?

I have not yet had to mess with the wc_universe.xml to clean up jump nodes, but rather the individual system files, located in ./sectors/Gemini (in this case). I -think- these are the soft-coded system files (soft-coded, meaning they can be easily changed, as opposed to hard-coded stuff, which is usually compiled into some binary or another, thus difficult to change). Of note, there is another location of system files, located in ./privateer100/sectors/wcuniverse.xml/ , and I am pretty sure this is where the auto-generated files are put. So far as I can tell, these are only created when there is no system file already living in the place the previous system file jump node reference says it is.

Uhm.. It is really not as complicated as it sounds. It will make more sense after you have looked at those files.

now the game terminated prob solved... after fresh install P:R then upgraded with new WCU files...

here's some question:

as i blowing up more pirates, it actually lower my freiendship with confed and eventually turn hostile... this have major prob around Sol sector...err.. most of the sector...

in a confed base, i could get a mission on bounty of few militia gladius??? aren't confed team-up with militia?

i've more to report after my second confirm...

Well, when I unrolled the zip files I did not see any error messages. Besides, not only is there no jump from Troy to Gemini, but there's also no jump from Gemini to Troy.
Okay, I'm going to re-install everything. Hmm... maybe I should use the cvs...
I got lost with the rest of your post. I know what 'hard-coded' means; just didn't get what I was supposed to look at.

That's odd... sure you're not killing confeds? If you see confeds and pirates fighting, and you get yourself involved, if you accidentally hit a confed it will anger them. Confeds like it when you speak friendly to them, and when you kill Kilrathi.

n a confed base, i could get a mission on bounty of few militia gladius??? aren't confed team-up with militia?

In my country of origin, the military once sent tanks in to occupy police headquarters.. ;-)

The missions are completely unrelated to the type of base you're in. Go to the pirate base in KM252, or any pirate base, and you'll find missions in the computer to attack pirates; and often a Confed officer sitting at the bar. Once I saw a mission delivering contraband from New Detroit to KM252.

Hawk, now I did re-install privateer remake from scratch, and the March22 wcu rar files, and for sure, Gemini still doesn't work. I took a mission there. Once in Junction, the objectives screen said 'find jump to Gemini'. I select the Gemini jump, auto, Jump, and I'm in a system that has one mining base and one jump point back to Junction. My objectives screen still reads 'find jump to Gemini', and when I land at the mining base, the mission is still incomplete.
BTW, I did delete the privater and .privateer100 folders, and emptied out the recycle bin too... ;-)

Is there any way I can talk you in to sending me the contents of your Junction and Gemini systems? I may be able to tell what is wrong with the systems, but I may have to leave the mission part to someone smarter. I have a sneaking suspicion tho, that if the systems are straightened out, then the mission problem might go away.

nop... not killin nor hurt any confed. i was in a mission clean sweep pirate forces at 9 nav in Sol system, as i proceed through these nav points and blowing up pirates, the confed just turn from green -> yellow -> red!!! then i was surrounded by 20 -30 + hostile confeds...

i did read a post by spiritplumber, where confed is actually same tier with pirates..??

ic... thanks for tellin'

there are some places with a jump point where HUD display "LOAD FAIL", haven't made a jump through it yet... will check on it tonite...

Drascox out!!

Somebody have wroten that the jump-points in gemini, in mastif and sol are false labelled. Can it be that the Mission computer are looking for that informations?? Mean, that the jumppoint is labbeled in the ?system.xml? as "jumptogemini" and the Objectivecode search for a jumppoint labbeled "jump to gemini"??

I wonder if it might not have to do with the fact that the system name already exists as a sector name. Wouldn't explain why Haven doesn't work either, though.
