Yes I know that. Which is my only complaint about the game. You've got torpedos that, in every other WC will not out a military capital ship in two hits. Yet it takes that many, if not more to bring down a Drayman.

Presumably the military doesn't want to sell Privateers any part of their "limited" (WC2) stock of antimatter torpedoes. Proton Torpedoes aren't related to them at all -- save for the name.

Maybe most of the weapons in Privateer are older models.

Thats what I always thought... although the Tachyon guns are supposed to be military spec and they even seem weaker then the WC3 equivalent.

I don't think anything makes that claim about the Privateer Tachyon guns (the notable thing about them is simply that they're the most efficient weapon in the game.)
