I was looking around the Privateer GG site and I noticed on the download screen that it says "You need to download a Release for your operating system and install it in order to play the game," and I'm not sure what this means. Can anybody give me some more info on this game I mean is it completely free but you just have to get the release?
 
The release is the game; you don't need an extra release to run the game :)

And yes, it is free, indeed. No hooks attached, no add-ware or expiration date. Highly recommended!!
