Privateer 2 problem

I'm trying to install the non-deluxe version of Priv 2 on Vista using DosBox, but I'm getting a fatal error during the install. I enter the correct information for the sound card, but when I test I get no sound. When I try to autodetect or manually enter the information for the music, it crashes. Help?

Are you trying General Midi? Try picking a Sound blaster, and if need be even one at a lower level than your machine should be capable of emulating.

Dosbox does all that really. There should be a section in the dosbox.conf file that tells you what the IRQs and DMAs are set to. You need to make sure they match what you set in the installer.

Did you try different sound options? Is the disc scratched?
