Privateer 2 doesn't work

I have the DOS version, and tried running it in dosbox. I mount the hd and the cd and I get an error message with a 'wonga credits' at the end.

I tried patching it with the Windows patch, and the game runs fine, until I try to exit the planet at which point it crashes. I tried setting the compatability modes, and nothing works.

Anyone get this to run in XP SP2?
 
What else does the dosbox error message say? When does it occur? Are you mounting the CD as -t cdrom? Did you apply the DOS patch?
 
Well, after installing the game and trying to copy all of the disks to the HD, I noticed I had a nice crack on corner of CD2.

AAAAARRRRGGGGG!!!!!

So much for that idea.
